Robert Rivera
Gourd artist extraordinaire, Robert Rivera, has made his home in the Sandia foothills of Placitas, New Mexico. A combination of Spanish, Indian, and French heritage informs Rivera's designs which he then paints and carves into the gourds. From decorative animal images to more sculptural human forms, the artist draws inspiration from many cultures (although primarily southwestern) to create his unique vessels which are exhibited at galleries across the globe.
